Uploaded Designs & IP Policy

Your CAD stays yours. Our job is to protect and produce it.

This policy clarifies how Dimenl handles the intellectual property you entrust to us, the limited rights we require to operate, and the commitments we make to keep your competitive advantage safe.

1. Ownership of uploaded content

All CAD files, drawings, specifications, logos, and brand assets you upload remain your intellectual property.

  • Dimenl acquires no ownership rights in your designs beyond the limited licence described below.
  • Metadata such as revision notes, material preferences, and inspection criteria also remain confidential to your workspace.

2. Limited licence to Dimenl

You grant Dimenl and our vetted manufacturing partners a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use your content solely to quote, manufacture, inspect, and ship approved orders.

  • We may reproduce files temporarily to generate toolpaths, fixtures, and inspection documentation.
  • We do not publish, market, or showcase your designs without written consent.
  • The licence automatically ends once the order is completed and statutory retention timelines expire.

3. Prohibited content

You must ensure content provided to Dimenl does not infringe third-party rights or violate Indian and international regulations.

  • Do not upload designs you do not own or have clear manufacturing rights to use.
  • Restricted or dual-use items, firearms, replicas, or defence articles require pre-clearance and export licences.
  • Content that encourages unlawful activity, discrimination, or harm will be rejected and reported if required by law.

4. Confidentiality and access controls

We treat your files as confidential and use appropriate organisational and technical controls to restrict access.

  • Only Dimenl employees and partners directly involved in your project can access design files.
  • All staff and partners sign NDAs and undergo regular IP protection training.
  • File access is logged; you can request audit trails for regulated programmes or compliance audits.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

Design files are stored in encrypted repositories located in India with secure backups for disaster recovery.

  • Working copies are retained while an order is active and for at least seven years thereafter for warranty, legal, and repeat order purposes.
  • You can request file deletion once orders close and statutory obligations are met; we will confirm completion in writing.
  • If you request deletion while related orders remain under warranty, we may retain essential data but will restrict access to authorised custodians only.

6. Handling infringement claims

If Dimenl receives a claim that your content infringes another party’s rights, we will follow a structured takedown and notification process.

  • We suspend processing of disputed files and notify the workspace owner to supply proof of rights within five business days.
  • If adequate proof is not provided, we may cancel affected orders and remove the content.
  • You agree to indemnify Dimenl against claims arising from content you upload, including legal fees and damages.
  • We will inform impacted authorities or claimants about resolution actions once the investigation concludes.
