Dimenl Privacy Policy

Protecting the designs and data you trust us with.

Effective 01 February 2025 · Applies to all Dimenl manufacturing and software services.

This Privacy Policy describes the personal information Dimenl Fabrication Studio (“Dimenl”, “we”, “us”) collects from customers, collaborators, vendors, and site visitors, how we process it, and the safeguards used to keep your uploaded designs and production data confidential.

1. Information we collect

We gather only the data required to quote, manufacture, and ship your orders while keeping your IP secure.

  • Account and identity data such as name, email, phone number, company, role, and GST or tax identifiers.
  • Order and production data including project references, materials, tolerances, finishing instructions, billing, and delivery addresses.
  • Uploaded designs and manufacturing files (DXF, STL, PDFs, images) retained in encrypted storage with controlled access for production teams.
  • Usage metadata like log-ins, device information, session timestamps, analytics events, and configuration choices captured to keep the platform reliable.
  • Support interactions, survey responses, and chat or call recordings used to improve service quality and fulfill regulatory obligations.

2. How we use your information

Dimenl processes personal and project data strictly for operational purposes and to deliver the services you request.

  • Authenticating your workspace, provisioning user roles, and enabling collaboration features.
  • Quoting, scheduling, and producing components, including automated manufacturability checks and nesting optimisation.
  • Quality assurance, traceability, invoicing, taxation, and statutory record keeping.
  • Providing notifications about order status, platform updates, policy changes, and critical service communications.
  • Improving product experience, analysing performance, and developing new capabilities using aggregated and anonymised insights.

3. Sharing and disclosure

We limit data sharing to vetted partners and service providers who help us fulfil your orders and maintain the platform.

  • Manufacturing partners, machinists, and engineers who access designs under confidentiality obligations solely to execute approved jobs.
  • Logistics, customs, and payment partners required to deliver shipments, collect duties, or settle transactions.
  • Infrastructure, analytics, and customer support tools that operate under DPAs and security controls aligned with our standards.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or courts when legally compelled, and only to the extent required by applicable law.
  • Potential acquirers or investors during diligence, subject to strict confidentiality and continuation of the commitments in this policy.

4. Data retention and security

Records are kept for as long as necessary to supply services, meet legal mandates, and manage disputes before being securely removed.

  • Account profiles remain active while you maintain a workspace; dormant accounts are reviewed annually for deletion.
  • Order artefacts, invoices, QA logs, and production files are retained for at least seven years to satisfy compliance, warranty, and audit trails.
  • Manufacturing files may be archived for repeat orders; you can request permanent deletion once open jobs are closed and statutory periods lapse.
  • We apply network isolation, encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and continuous monitoring to prevent unauthorised use.
  • Security incidents are logged and investigated immediately, with impacted customers notified without undue delay.
